Why Georg Jensen silver is collectable
We are often asked this question and would like to bring light to this subject.
First, Georg Jensen designs represent three major periods since the start of the company in 1904.
Georg Jensen and Johan Rhode owns designs came first and represent the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau.
Period (1904-1923). Harald Nielsen the Brother-in-law to Georg Jensen introduced the Pyramid Design
Which covers the Art Deco Period (1923-1942).
In 1946 Henning Koppel design candelabrums #956 and continued on to design some amazing pieces such as the Famous Eel (#1054) and fish dish (#1026).
Being influential in all three periods and having the world's most experienced silversmiths, Georg Jensen has been able to be at top of the Silver market. Here were many other very important and influential designers for Georg Jensen not mentioned.
